c. In the term newsletter it will state when subs should be paid by and when a late penalty charge of £5 will apply from.

3. Church Parade

Takes place on the 3rd Sunday of each month at St Michaels church.

4. Uniform

Hawkwell or Army and Navy, London Road, Westcliff.

b. We normally ask you to buy uniform top (compulsory) and trousers (optional) once you feel that your son or daughter has settled in. We will then invest them into the Group.

c. At the investiture into the Group you are welcome to attend and take photos of the ceremony. We will supply a scarf, woggle and all badges at no cost to you.

d. A 5th Rayleigh T Shirt is also available at £5 from the treasurer.

e. Lost scarves, woggles and badges will be charged at £5, £1.50 and £1 (per badge) respectively.
f.  Uniform should be worn to the evening meetings though we recommend T shirts to be worn underneath so uniform top can be taken off.

 5. Forms

We all dislike having to fill out forms but we need to ensure that we are covered for the events we do and have taken into account any problems that may arise. Forms in this pack are:
a. Emergency Contact / Health Form (Purple Form)
(In case we need to contact you or apply first aid we need to know of any medical conditions).
b. Gift Aid Form.
(This means that we can claim tax back from the Government - 20 pence for every 80
pence of subs, camp fees).
c. Latest Term Permission Form.
(This gives us the permission to run all on and offsite events for that term with your consent).

6. Dropping off and picking up your child

a. When you drop off your child please accompany them into the annex of the hall DO NOT drop them off from the car and drive off.
b. When you pick up your child please come into the annex of the hall and they will come to
 you once they’ve been dismissed.

7. Taking Part

a. The section leader will ask you to volunteer to help for at least one evening during the term – or if this is not possible agree to do one voluntary role during the term.
b. If you think you’d like to help but are not sure what you could do please ask one of the
leaders as there are plenty of things to do outside of the meetings. Things such as
dedicating time to set up fund raising events, publicising 5th Rayleigh, DIY jobs, helping in the development of our HQ (legal, admin), quartermaster, helping at camp are to name but a few.

8. Camps

a. We try to run 2 camps per year for the cub and scout sections and a sleep over for the beaver section.
b. All are charged separately
